A couple of years ago I largely stopped reading motivational books. I just couldn't see the post of listening to someone's views of how to turn my life around when that was literally the only thing they sold. There was no grand example to follow, just a bunch of big, mostly empty words that few bothered to verify. It also changed my perception of how I saw books about financial advice.

These days my views are less extreme, and am open to any good piece of advice no matter who it is coming from, as I've discovered that there is always something to learn. That said, It would be a lot easier to digest a piece of advice coming from one who leads by example than one who doesn't.

I always felt there was a reluctance on the path of the really wealthy to share their success formula - almost treating it as though it were some kind of zero sum game. It showed in a reluctance to write books on their success strategies - most books on the wealthy I used to come across during my teen years were more or less autobiographies which I saw as an enhanced publicity move.

But as I said the times are changing, and I have noticed a willingness for CEOs and founders alike to share their stories more. Changing times. These days determinants for some funding rounds for startups include an ability to tell a good story. Perhaps the World is beginning to realize a simple truth:

We Rise by Lifting Others

Part of what baffles me about really corrupt governments that rip their citizens off is that they aren't ignorant of the consequences their actions have, but choose to carry on anyways. The thing with thriving in a society filled with failures is the very real danger of getting caught in the crossfire.

Companies and traditional institutions have realized this, and what some do is offer just enough 'crumbs' to keep our stomachs filled so we won't become desperate enough to actually demand better for ourselves, while a few large stakeholders pocket the bulk of wealth generated.

Crypto is such a lucky find in this regard, as it seems the 'secret' of success for anyone is open for everyone on the chain to see. We see the movements of the successful here, and can equally choose to move in that direction. While there have been losers, the chain keeps producing more and more winners, showing the abundance there really is for many people to thrive at once.

Conclusion

The financially successful of the future wouldn't be those who kept a lid on their formulas, but those who shared it and developed it with other equally ambitious people, creating even more than they'd have imagined.
