Another day, another sibling story, and endless cravings to share with you. I kinda like to brag about how these two excel in their own little ways. One of them is vocal when it comes to his studies — a little proud, maybe. But the other one is an introvert, secretive, and kind of an outcast at school, which somehow makes me feel bad for him. It seems like he has his own world where he’s the only main character living in that realm.
My Brother Toto's Handmade Pottery - The Manunggul Jar
This was for his school project. So much effort, creativity, and hard work went into it — all for a good grade and to make his teachers proud. He even gathered soil clay from the road near our house on his way home.
Toto is talented, no doubt. Singer, once played an instrument at school, and an active officer in student government. Even weekends, he’s out for practice or duties. But behind that busy, talented kid... he has this habit of choosing hobbies over deadlines. He makes it seem like he’s okay in school, but it’s mostly phone and games. It hurts because his grades were great before. Now I don’t know. And he’s slowly losing the trust we gave him.
Last time, I confiscated his phone because he was neglecting the things he was supposed to do. I wanted to discipline him as an elder sister because I can’t just talk like Mama and let it slide. I just hope he wakes up to this soon. Because I care, and it breaks me to see him like this.
My head’s aching a bit. Maybe it’s stress? Time for comfort food with whatever I have. Found 3 little cassava in the kitchen. Perfect for making ukoy.
I was satisfied with the outcome — Nonoy and I didn’t leave anything behind. HAHA.
Time to prepare for dinner. I was wondering what to cook. I asked Papa what we’ll have for dinner and he was also thinking. In the end, he decided to check Uncle’s garden and he brought home two banana blossoms.
I thought of dividing the banana blossoms into sautéed and fried. First, I peeled off and threw away the tough outer layers. Then, I boiled it until tender and set it aside. Next, I divided it into two.
For the first menu, I made sautéed.
I sliced onions and garlic, then sautéed them well. I added seasonings and tasted it. Oh, I almost forgot — I had already prepared and boiled the chicken. I added it last since it was already cooked.
For the second menu, I made fried. I squeezed out the excess water from the boiled banana blossoms. I mixed it with flour and added seasonings. I heated the oil and dipped the mixture in. I fried it until it turned golden brown.
Yay! Dinner was simple but delicious. 😍
Little Brother Nonoy's Bird-like Invention
Nonoy has the weirdest hobbies, I swear. He’s quite smart but a little lazy. Whenever he comes home from school, I ask him if he has schoolwork, and he’ll immediately reply “no” — even if sometimes there really is. But you know what? Sometimes he does it on his own. His grades are also good, but he’s been struggling with Math.
Since he is the youngest, he’s the most stubborn. Whenever he’s told or asked to do something, he keeps murmuring and makes a face, which makes me feel angry. ROARRR. HAHA. But sometimes I love to tease him a lot because his reactions are so adorable. He’s got a bit of a bad temper. Like sister, like brother. HAHA.
This ends my blog. Thank you for reading and stopping by. Lovelots 😘
