When I stepped into this new world, I was suddenly struck by so many realizations. I had thought of things differently before, but the reality here turned out to be the total opposite of what I expected. I got scared, and there were moments when I even thought of backing out because of everything I was feeling inside. But along the way, I met people who were so kind, approachable, and friendly. Because of them, my stay became a little more tolerable and even fun at times. I know I can do the work - that part is manageable. What鈥檚 harder to deal with is the negative atmosphere that sometimes haunts me even in my sleep. Still, I am deeply grateful for those people who have been good to me here. Their kindness has helped me a lot more than they know. To all of you - I truly appreciate you.
For today's ganap, Ate M and I were selected to be the cleaners at the agency's office. Since no one wanted to volunteer, we had to gather up some courage and take on the honor ourselves - kidding aside! We thought the work would still be manageable, even if it was just the two of us doing it. And true enough, when we arrived at the office, we immediately started cleaning. We swept the floors, wiped the dust off the tables and other surfaces, and mopped the floor to finish everything off. The only downside was that we weren't informed to bring any cleaning products to make the place smell nicer. The only thing available was Zonrox, which really smells awful. One of the staff even asked us to mop the floor again and reminded us to wash the mop thoroughly.
After we finished cleaning, we had nothing else to do except sit around and try not to fall asleep because we were so sleepy. I asked Ate M if we could go out and find something to eat since I remembered seeing a 7-Eleven store near the office. But when we stepped outside, we realized it wasn't a 7-Eleven after all - it was an Uncle John's store, which is just similar to the one I mentioned. Huhu. Still, we decided to buy some monggo bread and sterilized milk. We stayed there for a while to enjoy our snacks and get some fresh air before heading back inside the office.
Since we hadn't decided to go back inside the office yet, we just found a place to stay for a while outside. Then, all of a sudden, it started to pour. People began gathering near us to take shelter, and some of them were smoking cigarettes, which made us feel uncomfortable because of the smell. So we decided to just go back inside the office. It was air-conditioned anyway, so we figured it was much better and more comfortable in there.
But the sleepiness was really uncontrollable. I tried to take a nap, but I suddenly felt like my mind was waking my body up. My head started throbbing, so I couldn't sleep well. In the end, I just decided to sit there quietly and watch Ate sleeping soundly beside me.
The work itself wasn't really heavy. What made it difficult was the long waiting time and the tiring travel from the office back to the accommodation.
This ends my blog. Thanks for reading and stopping by. Lovelots馃槝
