The three of us have been close friends since we were in college. After school, we often spent time together and went to different places. But when we started having our own families, we became busy with our own lives and almost forgot how it was to spend time together like before.
We have planned many times to meet, but our plans always did not happen.
Then suddenly, one of my college classmates, Coline, who was on leave (at work) messaged me and it says, “I will visit you."
The last time we saw each other, I only had one child. Now I already have three.
I did not really plan to go anywhere that day so I just said yes. We first picked up my kids from school because they only had a half day.
By chance, another kumare of ours, Lennie was there too. We invited her to join with us, but she said she and her kids already had plans to eat outside. So, we just joined them.
Together with the kids, we went to WalterMart Guiguinto and ate at Mang Inasal.
My budget ruined as well as my diet too. Oh no! Hahaha But this does not happen often, so I just enjoyed it. What matters is that we were happy and together again.
After that, we decided to stay at our house for a while. Coline bought some fishballs and French fries, we cooked and ate these snacks while singing our favorite songs when we were young using my Bluetooth karaoke on the terrace.
It was not planned at all, but we really enjoyed the whole day.
I think random moments like this are the ones that give us memories we will want to keep. I don't know when we will be able to do this again, but one thing is sure, its definitely worth it. even just for a few hours, it felt like we went back to the time when we were not that busy yet.
Adulting life really hits hard now, and we may not get to see each other as often as before, but moments like this remind us that our friendship is still there.
We don't know when the next get-together will be, so for now, we are just thankful for this unexpected day together. It was simple, unplanned, and full of fun. ❤️
