I started by arranging all the materials and tools I needed for the work. I like to put everything in place before I start because it makes the work easier and helps me work without too much stress.
I started with the sole of the shoe. I took the size 43 floor shape and placed it on a black faceless material. I marked it carefully and cut it into shape. After that, I took the same size 43 pattern and placed it on the brown leather, marked it, and cut it into shape too.
I applied gum to the two parts and joined them together. I made sure I followed the process properly so I would not make a mistake that could affect the work.
After that, I took it to the sewing machine and sewed the edge of the shoe with brown thread. At first, I wanted to use white thread, but when I looked at the brown colour, I decided that brown thread would look better with it. So I used brown thread to sew it.
For the top part of the shoe, I used a straight pattern to mark the shape on the brown skin material. I placed the pattern on the material and marked it into four places, which gives one pair.
After marking everything, I carefully used my scissors to cut each one into shape. I had to cut carefully because this is the top part of the shoe and I wanted the shape to come out correctly.
Now the top and sole parts were ready, so the next thing was to join them together. I created a hole in the middle of the sole and placed the top part into it. I marked it properly so that the top would enter the hole correctly.
After that, I used my leg and last to give the shoe a better shape. Lasting is one part that many people usually get confused about. You cannot just put the last inside and start lasting without positioning the top properly.
For a better lasting, I placed the last at the middle and center of the insole. I positioned the top properly and started drawing and fixing the top inside so that it would fit tightly. I made sure the last did not shift from the middle. If the last moves, the finished shoe may not stay straight and can bend to one side. So I took my time to place it correctly and lasted it according to its size. This is important because the customer needs to wear the shoe comfortably.
After that, I marked another size 43 pattern for the back sole of the shoe. I placed the pattern on the black Nora material, marked it into shape, and carefully cut it.
This is the back sole that I used to join with the top and the sole parts I had already prepared.
I took the back sole and joined it with the top and sole parts that I had already worked on. I applied gum to the necessary areas using Top Gum. The Top Gum we normally use here is very strong, and when it is used properly, it holds the shoe very well.
I applied the gum around the needed areas and placed the shoe in the sun to dry for about one hour. After it dried properly, I joined the parts together and pressed them well. I also used a hammer to make sure everything caught properly and became stronger.
After joining everything, the edge of the shoe was still looking rough, so I knew it could not remain like that. I took the shoe to the filing machine and carefully filed the round edges to make them smooth.
This part is very important because it helps to give the shoe a better finish and makes the edges look cleaner.

And this is the final look of the brown skin shoe after completing all the work.
Sincerely speaking, I really enjoyed every moment of making this shoe. One thing that made me very happy was that I did not have any problem with light during the work.
All the parts where I needed to use the filing machine were done without any interruption. We had light for about two days without taking it, and I was really excited about that because I was able to work without any delay.
The person I made this shoe for was also very excited when he saw it. He even complimented my work. He told me that he has a man who usually makes shoes for him, but the lasting is not always good and the shoes are not always of good quality. He said that with the shoes I have been making for him, he has never had any problem. Hearing that really made me happy because it is always a good feeling when someone appreciates your work.😊
