It's a beautiful day out here and it's so nice to be in this great community as I bring you greetings and wish you well in all you set out to do today, from my sewing room, I will be sharing with you with great pleasure the making of this simple and stylish keychain which can also serve as a coin pouch for safe keeping of your coin or other items you desired to keep in it. The interesting thing about this is that, it is simple to make with the use of scraps fabric that you might be thinking of disposing.
This might look small but it is very useful and can be given out as gift to your friends, family and love ones, I'm sure it will be well appreciated.
I drafted out a simple pattern on a brown paper for the coin pouch as I measured 6.5 x 4 inches,it was folded in two and I measured 4 inches upward from the 4 inches, I marked 0.5 inches inward and made a curve at the top and it was placed on a piece of fabric and I cut out same shape
I also cut out a small lining and placed the main fabric on it, it was taken to my sewing machine and I sew it round following the shape while I left an opening by the side for it to be turned to the right side
It was turned to the right side through the opening and it was neatly ironed
For the handle, I cut out a small bias tape of 4 inches, i was folded in two and it was placed on 2.5 inches marked on the main fabric
From the bottom upward, I measured 1.5 inches and folded it up, held it with pins on both sides and it was top stitched round from one end to the other on my sewing machine.
It was folded up again for me to locate where to fix my press button which I did with my hand needle and thread
My key was inserted in the small handle and this is the final and beautiful outcome, I hope you like how it looks
you can have your coin inserted in it and have it folded twice to secure your coin and with the press button.
