Hello everyone, I hope you are having an awesome week. I want to briefly write on intelligence and education.
There are a lot of speculations that been educated implies that such individual is intelligent. There are some educated one’s who are not able to utilize their knowledge because probably they choose a wrong path.
Getting good grades from education is never related to intelligence. it’s only an exposure to the path of intelligence rather.
To examine this more, I want to define what intelligence is about
What is intelligence?
Intelligence is the ability to acquire knowledge and skills using them at the right time. You can be educated, learn how or know how but if you are not been able to apply skills of your education, you are not intelligent.
Example of cases where intelligence plays out.
The person that invented the bulb used today tried for several times before getting the right thing that's was intelligence at work.
I learnt about calculation of mathematical models as an engineer whilst in school. In the real life, I was told to design a digital machine that will function based on input and processes it to mill rice.
If I am able to design the model that will make such machine function effectively, I am intelligent. It doesn’t become easy, you have to think, apply rules and the likes. Then when you have gotten a perfect result, you are said to be intelligent.
Another example of case where education plays an important role is in the era of King Solomon, two women had a heated argument over ownership of a baby but he was able to apply intelligence by giving a suggestion that requires immediate response. He was an intelligent king.
Do we need to go to school to become intelligent?
Like I said earlier education is a path way to intelligence but you have to study what is applicable in real life so as to be able to provide solutions to problem. This makes you intelligent.
Going to school is just for enlightenment puposes because an educated individual is far more better than one who hasn’t been to the fore walls of school. How will you be able to communicate your ideas? How will you be able to model your invention? All things would be trial and error for such individual.
Something else that needs to be done
What needs to be done before intelligence play its role is to know. To know means to acquire knowledge about a particular thing. You must have to acquire concrete knowledge from basic to tertiary level on what you want to be educated on. When you have acquired the knowledge, you are able to use it to solve a problem then they say you are intelligent.
Reading to get good grades is just been smart especially the type of education been taught in primary, secondary and tertiary institution. But when it comes to real life problem like finding an alternative to fuel driven cars which involves producing solar and artificial intelligence driven cars
Then you can refer to such invention as an intelligent one.
Just like Elon musk, you can say he is intelligent.
