Cuando entraron a casa del escritor se quedaron sorprendidos de la cantidad de apuntes que tenía perfectamente ordenados en los estantes, pero cuando vieron la máquina de escribir tuvieron que llamar a la policía. Tenía las teclas dispuestas de forma muy distinta a lo convencional, doble barra espaciadora y un pequeño monitor al centro. El monitor tenía una perforación en la parte inferior derecha y varios botones como los que tenían los aparatos de radio antigüos.
La casa no tenía ventanas y tan solo tenía una puerta de acero reforzado al frente. No encontraron evidencia de que haya salido, sin embargo tampoco estaba dentro.
