We travelled over to neighbouring Nottingham today to visit the 'Wild Rabbit Cafe'. We've never been before, but the name attracted me alone. It was on an unadopted road, tucked away in a rural area.
At the very end of the road was the cafe. A bungalow was next to it, so not sure if it belonged to the cafe owner or not. There wasn't many more houses nearby just a lovely wooded area. Trust me, if there hadn't been signs along the way, there's no way I'd have thought there was a cafe at the end of the road.
The cafe was in the Portland Park Nature Reserve which turned out to be quite an interesting place. The car park was free of charge with lots of spaces. There was a visitor centre and numerous walking trails in the wood.
Anyway, let's go and check out the coffee!
We had a bog standard coffee with soya milk, a latte and a couple of fry ups.
My coffee alone was only £1.20. I couldn't believe how cheap it was. It looked like mud but it tasted fine!
You could say the cafe was dog friendly as there was a little shih tzu sat at the table. She's a regular I believe ....
The place was quite big with an upstairs as well.
The cafe also had a makeshift bar for the beer lovers.
Overall, it was a nice quirky cafe and if I lived closer it definitely would be a place I'd pop in on a regular basis.
