Unexpected Sunday Sightings……..My Actifit Report Card: October 11 2026
The day dawned brilliantly sunny. We headed to church for awesome worship and a great sermon. When we were just getting into the car to head home, @silvertop said to get my camera and look at the top of the fir tree not 50 yards from the church. Here’s what I spied.
If you look closely, you’ll notice there are two Bald Eagles hanging out! I watched through my camera lens and saw the movement. That was when I realized there were the two of them!
Guess they stopped by for church! 😇 It was a bit windy and I’ve learned that oftentimes, they will find a tree to hang out in until it’s calmer. You might remember this next picture when I spied a Bald Eagle taking shelter during a windy rain storm. That was a beautiful encounter!
@silvertop wanted to go back to Costco as we’d forgotten to get those big black tubs they have yesterday, so once we accomplished some things, we set out for there. Mission accomplished and we headed home. What do you think we found in the yard?………….take a look!
This peacock was at the garage headed around the back! I got out of the car with my trusty phone cam and stealthily followed!
I then went inside for another view of this colorful fellow!
Some years ago a neighbor down the way, was raising peacocks. A special one escaped—special as he had only one foot— and would make his home each spring in the big cedar tree. I named him Wellington. He would see me off to work each morning and greet me when I came home. He would often stand beside me and fan out his amazing tail feathers and ‘drum’ making a sound and shaking them. He’d let me pet the glorious display which was almost as tall as I am, while drumming. It was amazing! One year, he brought his girlfriend whom I named Windsor. She wasn’t as nice because if you turned your back on her, she’d try to spur you the same way a rooster can.
That was quite a number of years ago. I figure Wellington probably was not of this world any longer. Who knows …..perhaps this peacock is one of his descendants with an inborn instinct to come here!
Just goes to show you that you can run into the most unexpected sights in my neck of the woods! 😁
That’s gonna be it for now. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in Your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
