Whereas it rained overnight and was to continue for the whole day, it did not. I was really surprised that the skies weren’t leaking as it sure looked 👀 like it would. Our plan was to go hit Costco and maybe Walmart.
It’s no secret that the stock market dropped another 876+ points and that the crypto markets have seen better days, but what really surprised me a bit was just how much some things had increased in price! Gas of course is crazy 😜 ! Everything has gone up but one thing that really surprised me was the increase of $2 per can increase in price of hairspray of a particular brand that I used. It’s over $6.70 per can now! 🙀That’s insane! Either I’m going to have forgo using it; buck up and pay the price, or just cut my hair to another style. I don’t really like any of those options! Between gas, groceries and a few non-grocery items, what would have cost around $275 last month was around $350 today. 😳😳😳
Once we got things unloaded and put away, we headed up for a short hike to the pond. Here’s some eye 👁 candy 🍭 for your viewing pleasure!
We have what they call Spittle Bugs here. They are easily spotted as they have what looks 👀 like spit on the plant. They cut the tender parts of plants and suck the fluid from the stems. They are kind of gross and until I took an up close photo of one of them, I had never seen the actual bug. Look 👀 for the little yellow worm 🐛 like thing in the center of the spittle mass.
