We got up this morning to no rain and this funny light coming from the skies! Oh-wait, that’s right……..that’s the SUN!! It’s been so long since I’d seen it, I almost forgot what it looked like, lol! It was a glorious sunny morning and we were headed to church. This is the first time since we began the new sound system installation and completed it that we slept in and let Jamie, who we’ve worked with over the fall, and the other worship team run with it. It felt strange not to be there early and work with everyone, but it was nice to sleep in a bit.
The sermon was good, and the fellowship afterwards good too. We lined up our musicians for next week and sound person as we are leading and we’ve been allowed to do more music than is the norm for the 15th. Our objective…..to worship God and to have fun while doing it!
After church, we arrived home and had a bit of lunch before heading out for a hike. A hike in the sun! What a novel idea! It felt wonderful on our faces, even though it was a bit chillier than we thought it would be.
Things were fresh and wet from yesterday’s rain. It was a refreshing hike. We ran into one of our neighbors as we were descending, and she wants to tag along tomorrow. She’s never hiked with us, and I’m hoping she is aware of what she’s getting in to. I remember how surprised Jan was when she first joined us, and Joan, the lady from today might just be in for a surprise. Who knows…….maybe before all is said and done, we will have corrupted the entire road and it will become a neighborhood hike!
After we got home and I put my feet up for a bit, we dragged out all of the instrumentation we are using for next Sunday, and ran through the music. On one of the songs, I will play a piccolo; on another a dulcimer and concert sleigh bells. ’Tis the season and this is almost the only time I get these guys out to play.
Tomorrow is my grand Christmas shopping expedition I had originally planned for on Saturday. Poor
