Hello fellow Actifitians!! Happy 4th of July! Today dawned cool and gray. We had been invited to a parade in a small town south Bellingham, so even though rain looked to be imminent, we sat out anyway.
We arrived and went to set our chairs up on the parade route and then proceeded to take a tour of this small town. It reminded us of Gunnison, Colorado a bit. There was a huge area set aside for chainsaw carving competition and many artists at work on their creations. It was loud and noisy and great! We headed back to where we had set the chairs for the parade and settled in to wait. There were lots of horses, various farm equipment and of course the high school marching band. There were many logging trucks as this was a logging town.
The parade lasted almost one and three quarters hours! It was fun!! After the parade, we headed out to find food. The local American legion had a burger stand; grilled hamburgers with sautéed onions and cheese-yummy!
After a nice lunch with our friends, we headed back home. By then, I needed a second coffee, so upon drinking it, we set off for our normal hike. I am exhausted as I didn’t get nearly enough sleep last night.
