Instagram is for "fashionistas" -I hate this word more than anything- and facebook has become more like a family album and diary. On facebook people mostly have as friends their actual friends and relatives and not hundreds of strangers, stalkers and "fans". There is a more "intimate" atmosphere if I could say that.
People on facebook post funny videos, memes, music videos dedicated to the ones they love, to the ones they just broke up and they now hate, they post their political beliefs -that no one really cares about-, they post threatening messages that no one understands, poems and their thoughts. They also post photos of their view, of their night-outs with friends, family dinners, photos of their actual dinner (their food), photos of their dogs, their cats, photos of their holidays and some selfies now and then...
That's the usual activity of the majority on facebook... BUT we also have another category... THE PARENTS. Especially MUMS. Mums are a group on their own. Different mums, different children, SAME posts. Like identical. How can this happen?
Most of them have as friends only the ones they know and they feel like those 60-150 people NEED to know EVERYDAY what their child said, did, thought. They let everybody know about all kind of personal information about a kid who is just a kid and not superman. If your kid learns to fly yes, I would love to know that. If your kid becomes invisible, shoots fireballs from the hands, climbs on the ceiling, be my guest and share all these with me, with us. But I don't care that much about a kid who can float in the water or kick a ball.
The crazy thing is that THOSE mums who choose to use facebook as their kid's bragging-for-no-reason-diary, are the same ones who post a photo of their child sitting on a bench with an apple sticker on the kid's face. SERIOUSLY??? I mean REALLY??? You are bombarding us every single day with all these creepily detailed information and when you post a photo of the child you're talking about you hide his/her face?? What's the point of posting an apple with arms and legs doing nothing? Nobody forced you to upload a photo of your kid. You decided to share that and you hide the face? You hide it from whom? From your family and friends who have already seen his/her face? Are you out of your mind?
Honestly I don't get it. I don't get how some people think.
It's like uploading a selfie with your face hidden.
