In the past, I have already written something about magnetism and alchemy and have already addressed the doctor and alchemist Paracelsus who has already researched this topic and here I would like to discuss another important figure in this field. Here are some pictures that I created with the help of artificial intelligence and depict the German doctor Franz Anton Mesmer (1734 - 1815) who, after working as a doctor for a long time, started to research different things in the field of magnetism and electromagnetism. For his research, Mesmer was already inspired by some other researchers in the field and he is also considered an investor of the so-called animal magnetism, which is also known as mesmerism and according to his views, the whole universe consists of magnetic influences. After some experiments, he found out that he could determine a healing effect on the human body with the help of magnets and that without getting close to the patient with the magnet and the animal magnetism is already in the human body and an important part of his cures was the own body.
He began to cure some patients with his method and towards the end of the 18th century, his successes became more and more famous and more patients came to him and in order to be able to heal more people at the same time, he founded his own clinic and developed a sophisticated technology with which he could heal more people at the same time without having to devote himself to every patient. He built a kind of bucket which was also known as the Baquet and for the construction he used a tub made of wood which he filled with water and filled it with iron shavings and reduced glass and from the baquet he derived iron rods which were to transfer the magnetic force. Around this development, more than 20 patients could be healed at the same time and touch the iron rods to heal themselves and many well-known figures such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) took advantage of his cures, but it did not meet with everyone's popularity and Mesmer was attacked by many people at the time. Mesmer also found out that he could put patients into hypnosis or trance with the help of magnets and he treated many incurable people more successfully with his methods in his time and even if he was not popular with everyone and his methods were often presented as ineffective, he made great progress in the field and set milestones and precursors in some areas and further developed magnetism which has been known since ancient times.
