This weekend I had the opportunity to visit São Paulo Hill, a small village located on the island of Tinharé, which belongs to the State of Bahia in Brazil. It is a magical place where the blue of the sky blends with the tone of the sea, full of joy for the diversity of tourists from all over the world and for the hardworking and happy people who live in this place, with parties or simply to relax and enjoy the beach atmosphere.
As São Paulo Hill is located on an island bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and has no direct connection to the continent, it is not possible to get there by car or bus directly. The most common way to get to Sao Paulo Hill is leaving the Capital of Bahia, Salvador, by Catamaran and this crossing takes about 2h30. There is also the semi-terrestrial option that is going to the port city of Valença-Bahia taking a boat and the crossing takes about 1h30.
To get to our destination we used a tourist service that left the city of Aracaju-Sergipe until the port of Valença, this route took about 7 hours and then we crossed by boat to Sao Paulo Hill.

Neste final de semana tive a oportunidade de visitar Morro de São Paulo, uma pequena vila localizada na Ilha de Tinharé, que pertence ao Estado da Bahia no Brasil. É um lugar mágico onde o azul do céu se confundi com o tom do mar, cheio de alegria pela diversidade de turistas de todas as partes do mundo e pelo povo trabalhador e alegre que vive neste lugar, com festas badaladas ou simplesmente para relaxar e curtir o clima praiano.
Como Morro de São Paulo esta localizado em uma ilha banhada pelo Oceano Atlântico e não possui ligação direta com o continente, não é possível chegar lá de carro ou ônibus diretamente. A forma mais comum de se chegar a Morro de São Paulo é saindo da Capital da Bahia, Salvador, através de Catamarã e essa travessia dura cerca de 2h30. Existe também a opção semiterrestre que é indo até o porto da cidade de Valença-Bahia pegando um barco e a travessia dura cerca de 1h30.
Para chegar em nosso destino utilizamos um serviço de Turismo que saiu da Cidade de Aracaju-Sergipe até o Porto de Valença, está rota durou cerca de 7 horas e depois atravessamos de barco até Morro de São Paulo.
VALENÇA - SÃO PAULO HILL CROSSING
Arriving in São Paulo Hill the first challenge is to climb a long hill, after all it is not by chance that the place receives the name "Hill". For those who arrive with a lot of luggage or don't have the physical conditions to climb the hill in order to get to the city, there is a cab service where the locals use hand cars to go up with the luggage of the tourists.
Arriving in Morro our first destination was to leave our luggage at the Pousada The Casarão, which is located in the center of town and close to everything.
In the morning, the first tour we took was to Gamboa Beach, leaving from the Third Beach of Morro by boat. Along the way, we stopped at a stretch of the way to get in the water and contemplate the nature. Arriving at Gamboa beach we have a wall of clay of various colors, my wife and I took a clay bath, the natives of the region say that these clays rejuvenate the skin and have various medicinal properties.

Chegando em Morro de Paulo o primeiro desafio é subir um longo morro, afinal não é atoa que o lugar recebe o nome de "Morro". Para quem chega com muita bagagem ou não tem condições físicas de subir o morro, a fim de chegar na cidade, existe o serviço de táxi onde os moradores utilizam carros de mão para subi com as bagagem dos turistas.
Chegando em Morro nosso primeiro destino foi deixar nossa bagagem na Pousada O Casarão, que fica localizada no centro da cidade e perto de tudo.
Pela manhã, o primeiro passeio que fizemos foi para a Praia de Gamboa, saindo da Terceira praia de Morro via barco. Ao longo do percuso paramos em um trecho do caminho para entrar na água e contemplamos a natureza. Chegando a praia de Gamboa temos um paredão de argila de várias cores, eu e minha esposa tomamos um banho de argila, dizem os nativos da região que essas argilas rejuvelhecem a pele e tem várias propriedades medicinais.
There are several leisure options in Sao Paulo Hill , one of them is to go down the famous Tyrolese which is about 60 meters (65 yards) high and one of the largest tyrolese that falls directly into the water in Brazil. To get to the zip line you have to climb a trail, which also gives access to the lighthouse and the lighthouse viewpoint. From there you can have a beautiful view of the sea and the First and Second Beach of Hill.

Há várias opções de lazer em Morro de São Paulo, uma delas é descer na famosa Tirolesa do Farol que tem cerca de 60 metros de altura e umas das maiores tirolesa que cai diretamente na água, no Brasil. Para chegar na tirolesa é preciso subir uma trilha, que também dar acesso ao Farol e Mirante do Farol. De lá dar para ter uma bela vista do mar e da Primeira e Segunda Praia de Morro.
At night in Hill there are several leisure options, both for those who like to party and for those who like calm environments. Walking the streets of Morro at night is simply magical to see the variety of people and places to enjoy. As I like tranquility we looked for a quiet place to eat and drink with friends.
[PT] A noite em Morro existem várias opções de lazer, seja para quem gosta de festas badaladas e para quem gosta de ambientes mais calmos. Andar a noite pelas ruas de Morro é simplesmente mágico ver a variadade de gente e lugares para aproveitar. Como gosto de tranquilidade procuramos um local calmo para comer e beber com os amigos.
The best tour without a doubt is the tour around the island by fast boat, which leaves at about 9:30 am from Third Beach. It is a tour that literally goes around the island of Tinharé, where part of the tour is by sea and another by river.
I loved this tour, because it has adrenaline, incredible landscape, natural pools, good and even exotic food, besides getting to know a little bit of the neighboring island, Boipeba Island.
After the natural pools, we went to the Island of Boipeba, to "Cueira Beach". On this beach, we stopped for lunch, where you can enjoy lobster and seafood.
After the lunch stop we return by the Hell River, no longer by sea. The next stop on the tour, the community of Canavieiras, where there is a natural oyster farm. Unfortunately, our cell phone battery ran out and we were unable to record the rest of the tour. 😓
There are some floating restaurants there and you can taste the most exotic delicacy of the place, oyster gratin. 😋
Finally, the boat follows the Inferno River, continuing to circumvent the island of Tinharé until you return to the sea and arrive at the port of Sao Paulo Hill.

O melhor passeio sem sombras de dúvidas é a volta a Ilha com Lancha rápida, que sai mais ou menos as 9h30 da Terceira Praia. É um passeio para literalmente dar a volta a ilha de Tinharé, onde parte do passeio é pelo mar e outra pelo rio.
Eu amei este passeio, pois tem adrenalina, paisagem incríveis, piscina natural, comida boa e até exóticas, além de conhecer um pouco da ilha vizinha, a Ilha de Boipeba.
Depois das piscinas naturais fomos na Ilha de Boipeba, na Praia da Cueira. Nessa praia a parada é para almoço, e você vai poder se deliciar com lagostas e frutos do mar.
Após, a parada para almoço voltamos pelo Rio do Inferno, não mais pelo mar. A próxima parada do passeio, a comunidade de Canavieiras, onde há um criatório natural de ostras. Infelizmente, a bateria do nosso celular descarregou e ficamos impossibilitados de fazer os registros do resto do passeio. 😓
Lá ficam alguns restaurantes flutuantes e você pode saborear a iguaria mais exoticas do lugar, ostra gratinada. 😋
Por fim, a lancha segue pelo Rio do Inferno, continuando a contornar a Ilha de Tinharé até voltar para o mar e chegar ao porto de Morro de São Paulo.
