Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog.
Today I started playing a new side quest called The River Children. For a few days, people around Akashima had been telling various stories. They claimed that a terrible creature was attacking fishermen and killing many. To find out the truth about this mystery, I set off towards the Akashima area, where the rumors started.
The place wasn't very far, I walked about six hundred meters to reach it. When I got there, I saw a small house. Inside the house, a girl named Shino was sitting hunched over in fear. She looked as if she had seen something very scary a while ago.
I went to him and asked what had happened. Shino told me that a while ago, a terrible creature called "Kappa" came here and attacked them. He hid in the house in fear, and his father went outside to chase the creature away. But he hasn't come back since.
Hearing the incident, I started investigating around. After going a little further, I saw an overturned box, the contents of which were scattered all around. It seemed that someone had left it behind while fleeing in a hurry. Some half eaten fish were lying next to it. Going further, I saw blood stains, as if someone had been dragged away.
I followed the bloodstains. I saw many footprints on the ground. I was suspicious when I saw the footprints. They were not the footprints of any animal or creature, but of a human.
I continued to follow the footprints. Suddenly, a tragic scene came into view. A human body was lying there. As I got closer, I realized that this was Shino's father.
Now I was sure that this was not any creature. Surely some robbers or thieves had done this. Following the footprints, I reached a hilly place. There was a fire burning and the smell of frying fish was coming. I saw some robbers sitting there. I understood that these were the people who had spread the story of the kappa so that everyone would be afraid and that the responsibility for their crimes would fall on that imaginary creature.
I didn't delay any longer. I attacked them directly. I was very angry thinking of Shino's father. So I didn't spare anyone. I killed them all one by one.
After the battle was over, I saw a beautiful flute there. Later I realized that it was Shino's father's flute. I took it and returned to Shino.
When I returned, I saw that she was digging in the ground. When she saw me, she ran to me and asked about her father. I told her the truth. She burst into tears after hearing this.
Later, I asked her if she had any place to go. She said that she had an aunt living in Akashima City and that she would go there.
