Spear upgrade in the Sigma Cauldron - Horizon Zero Dawn.

In the second chapter of my adventure I shared with you that I had obtained an artifact that allowed me to control some mechanical beasts called Gallopadores and Pasteadores. The thing is that while I was checking the characteristics of my spear, I realized that it can be upgraded and looking through the side quests, I found one that would take me to one of the shrines where you can get an upgrade.

These shrines are called cauldrons and today I will be exploring the Sigma Cauldron. The entrance was guarded by several smaller machines, so I had to approach very carefully.

As I approached the door, I got the option to interact with the spear in the lock. After inserting the spear, I had to press repeatedly to hack the door and open it.

To continue, I had to rappel down to the inside of the caldera. I don't know how long Aloy's rope is, but I descended a good distance.

When I hit bottom, I found myself in a place that looked like the inside of an alien spacecraft. Not knowing what would be waiting for me on the other side, I crossed a narrow corridor through the wall, as it was the only way available.

On the other side of the wall I found a factory. And yes, I literally saw a factory with assembly line and everything. The corridors were guarded by lookouts and to cross the gates you had to solve some small puzzles that deactivated the protective force field.

Little by little I made my way through the corridors of that huge subway facility until I reached an area where I had to hack another lock to connect a bridge that would allow me to cross to the other side of the factory.

On the other side of the factory, the paths were non-existent and I had to move forward by hanging from the containers that moved through an electromagnetic network. At times, I hung from the bottom of the containers and at other times I hung from behind.

At the back of the factory I found something called “the heart of the factory”. As I imagined, this was a factory and, sure enough, what they were manufacturing were machines that they would later release on the surface.

As I approached I could see that the process of making a machine was being carried out by huge robotic arms, which were working inside a protective dome. For some reason, the system was telling me to hack into the dome and eliminate the creature they were assembling.

To hack the dome, I climbed a pedestal and interacted with a lock using the spear. When I managed to deactivate the protective field, the pedestal began to descend.

As I hit the ground, the newly constructed machine noticed my presence and attacked me ferociously. I used a few fire arrows to weaken the huge mechanical creature and then delivered the final blow.

I guess that mechanical beast was the mini-boss of the shrine, because after defeating him in the middle of the room, he noticed a mechanical monolith, which on its sides had some interfaces very similar to those of the locks and he could connect the spear there.

After interacting with the monolith, I got an upgrade on my spear that allows me to control new creatures. Also, the room began to move and transformed into a giant elevator, which took me to the cave's entry point.

In the end I walked away from there, but not before looking back and taking a souvenir capture of that place that had now become a sanctuary open to any visitor.
