Spotted from high above, Cauldron MU promised new machine overrides if I could reach its core. Gliding down, I snuck past patrolling Scavengers and unsealed the entrance using Aloy's spear. Inside, I tackled high-wire cable slides and wall climbing while avoiding Burrowers deeper within the facility.
Flying high above the area, I spotted a Cauldron structure hidden down below, and Aloy immediately noted that reaching its central core would unlock overrides for new machine types.
I decided to drop everything and tackle it next. The main entrance was heavily guarded by a pack of machines, so I hopped off my flying mount and deployed my glider, dropping smoothly and safely down to ground level.
I immediately crouched into the patches of tall grass to keep a low profile, aiming to slip past the perimeter guards without getting dragged into an annoying group fight.
The perimeter was patrolled by several Scavengers that were staying pretty alert on guard duty. There was one trailing behind my position that I completely ignored, but another one was pacing right next to the Cauldron entrance.
Checking its path scan, the game noted it was an unconstrained machine free to wander off its set trail, which made its movements super unpredictable.
I had to be extra patient, timing my crouch-walk to slide right behind its back while it turned away. The machine had zero clue I was right behind it, allowing me to slip up to the massive Cauldron door undetected.
I jammed Aloy's spear into the door override port, forced the heavy entrance open, and darted inside before any of the guards realized what happened.
Aloy pointed out right away that this facility was named Cauldron MU and warned that once we pushed deeper inside, there would be no turning back until the core was finished.
A full-screen game prompt popped up right after, confirming I was entering a locked area and asking if I was properly prepared. I was fully stocked on supplies, so I accepted the warning and kept moving forward.
Visual cues were super clear, with glowing ledges along the walls indicating climbing paths. I started scaling the structure right away to keep up my momentum and get deeper into the complex.
Reaching a high platform, I spotted a long cable stretching across the massive open drop. Jumping onto the line for a fast zipline slide felt awesome at first, but the line didn't go all the way across, forcing me to leap mid-air from one cable to another to keep from plunging into the pit below.
Dropping onto a lower landing zone, my main goal shifted to finding the central core room. Moving down the hallway, I spotted glowing network uplinks alongside a Burrower patrolling the floor, so I slowed back down to figure out how to take out the scanner without alerting the rest of the facility.
The next post will be coming soon. Screenshots are my take from the game and I took the game logo that I used on the thumbnail picture from online.
SEE YOU.
