University life is temporary. It might feel like the people around you, the drama, the friendships, the arguments and everything happening right now will last forever, but it won’t. One day, you’ll look back and realise that a lot of the things you stressed over were never worth losing your peace over.
People will do stupid things. Some will talk about you behind your back. Some will try to embarrass you, bring you down, spread rumours or make your life harder because they are jealous, insecure, angry or simply don’t like you. Sometimes, you might not even know why someone has a problem with you. That’s just how people are.
But you have to learn not to let every action get a reaction from you.
You’re in university to build your future, not to spend every day worrying about who hates you or what someone said about you. If somebody is doing something out of jealousy, let them. If someone wants to waste their time trying to make you look bad, let them. You don’t have to play every game people invite you to.
The truth is, university will end. You and these people will eventually graduate and go your separate ways. The person who caused you stress today might become someone you never speak to again. The drama that feels so serious now might be something you barely remember in a few years.
So protect your peace. Focus on your goals. Keep your head down when you need to, enjoy your life, and don’t let temporary people create permanent stress in your mind.
Not everything deserves your attention. Sometimes the best response is to keep moving forward and let time expose everything for you.
