When I started going to the gym I didn’t like stressing myself and after any little pain I would just stop working out and this was because I was scared of hurting myself, after working out for months I realized that I was not improving and at first I thought it was diet and I need to improve on my protein. I increased my protein intake and I saw a little difference after some time I realized I was plateauing again and it started becoming annoying. I did some research and I realized that when I start feeling tired that is when I should push more.
Immediately after I made this change I began to see massive improvement and my muscle increased within a short period, this is called the push to failure and one or two reps you push after you are tired are the ones that make a massive difference. This always happens to people because we believe that pushing extra hard might affect us or some people even give up because they don’t see themselves getting to the Finnish line. When things get so hard that is when we push more because it will never be any easier sometimes and all we have to do is to be better.
The moment of truth
A workout without pushing to failure will not reveal the truth to you whether you improving or not, that moment you are tired and trying to do a little bit more is the moment of truth because it reveals so much that is where the true gains are. Most people always have a moment when they are tired and all they can think is to rest and this little push is what different those will win and those without the result because they did not push to the end. Regret comes when you know you should have done better but you quit or did not put in the extra work.
Sometimes, not doing a little bit more in those moments might get you a result but it will a long time and also luck too. Everyone have the ability to try something out and everyone also have the ability to get better at it but what separate most people is just a little effort. Most running athletes come to the Olympics after preparing for years and what separate gold from bronze most times is not always up to an inch, sometime your years of preparation is just to be an inch better than everybody else.
It is up to you
Everything we do in life is always up to us whether we want to get the best result or settle for less depend on us and the most crucial moment is the moment of truth and that is when we need to put in extra effort but some people give up which makes all their effort go to waste. It is up to us whether to celebrate or regret that we should have done better.
Thanks for your time.
