Sometimes our plans don't work out for us, or maybe they do but we don't know... Walking may always seem like a pleasant activity, especially if we go to beautiful, inspiring and pleasant places. But even in these cases it is not all that it seems, or yes...

This place is not new to me, it is actually the city that I know the most, mine, or the one that was. From time to time I return, sometimes out of obligation, we have to do things and other times just here for pure pleasure. But in summer the pleasure is not walking on the asphalt of the city, it is too hot, but when you plan to go from one area to another and you calculate that the public transport will not bring you there or will not arrive on time, you prefer to save time, cross through and while we hopelessly sweat we see interesting things. Because there is always something interesting to look at, right?
In Valencia, a city in Spain, the green heart is perhaps the most emblematic area, the old river area. We are on one side and we need to go to the center so the best thing to do is to cross one of its bridges, some modern and others historic, made of immovable stone from where we can look out over the old riverbed of the river diverted outside, an original urban garden that I have already told you about on some other walk in the past.
Now we are not going there, although we would like to go under the trees, a little shade would be good instead of that strong relentless sun. But we continue until we reach the other side, where classic and elegant buildings receive us again, the one that most attracts our attention is the Bancaja Foundation, which has become a benchmark in terms of art exhibitions. Important collections of renowned paintings constantly visit the city, but unfortunately we don't have time to enjoy more art by Sorolla, Botero or Belgian impressionists, but I should visit this someday soon...
At the moment when passing, large imposing and majestic columns, how beautiful are the cities that buildings like this, and not giant cubes of steel that honestly lack personality in many cases, when did architecture stop being so impressive or is it that today are we used to the modern style by now?
I still like the old design, if you can call it that. Those beautiful, elegant, stylish and classy facades, and of course we look at all the elements, even the doors, because a few doors before seemed to indicate a lot, the best letter of introduction to those who lived behind. A wooden marvel that reminds us that before things were done well, to show beauty, skill and art, now everything goes fast and business is business, a copy of another and another, just like that.
This impromptu walk, an improvised walk without desire has made me think, I have noticed details that perhaps another day I would have overlooked. Everything on the go, without much stopping, walking and arriving, doing what I had planned to do, to later return, under the shade, in the fresh air, because later on there will be a time and an opportunity to walk more calmly, with more breeze and with a more pleasant sensation, without drops of sweat, without clinging to the water bottle while we alternate it with the mobile to take these photos. Simply walking slowly, crossing the city again and mindlessly noticing those other interesting details that we don't notice, just like that, in an improvised way.
