Yesterday I realized that it was May 2, and that just two years ago I started doing something that I am still doing today and that has been beneficial for me. Two years ago I started running, well we all began to be able to go out on the street again. Those weeks locked up at home affected us all, and I think it helped us to value life even more, health, sunbathing, that shot of vitamin D that is more necessary than we thought, breathing fresh air, walking, stretching legs, move, exercise, run, go to other places, and see the sea, smell that air loaded with iodine and that comforts us so much.

We needed all that and feel good. We then feel an urge to want to do all those things that we took for granted, as something that was always there, for when we wanted without giving them the value that they really have. Because we are lucky and we don't see it very often.

That happened to me, that's what I thought then. That May 2 was the day. It was the day to get up early and go for a run, through the city, along the avenue, until I reached the beach promenade and see again the sky and the sun that was waiting for me, I wanted with desire. I discovered that early in the morning there is a different energy, serene and clean, that makes me feel stronger than at any other time.

But I didn't like running, especially on the street, I saw that uncomfortable, tiring of course and something that wasn't really for me. Before in the past I did it on the typical gym treadmill, at my own pace. But maybe we just had to start, start walking, then try for a few minutes until we could and then a little more, and then walk again. You cannot start so strong without being prepared. But it was the first step.

It was the first step of many others, of thousands or millions. It changed my life, it changed the way I manage my anxiety and my nerves, it gave me a wonderful time to reflect, to meditate, to focus on my thoughts, and it gave me impressive views of the sunrise, the horizon, the passing clouds, the light that played with them. I enjoyed the fresh winter wind on my face, the air charged with the smell of the sea and the flowers that were appearing in spring. I even like to get wet with that rain that surprised me halfway in autumn or even now. I felt the strong sun on my skin in summer and how drops of sweat fell, and the desire to return to freshen up. And the desire to always shower afterwards, have breakfast and feel great.

I felt great because I could see my progress every day, my progress, and as the months and months went by I got a little further, I endured more and more minutes without stopping and I didn't want to stop. But it also taught me that sometimes we had to stop, not only when it was pouring rain or when I had something unavoidable to do, but when my body told me to. Because you have to listen to the body, feel it and listen to it. Sometimes I felt that I couldn't, that I was tired, I also felt that my feet needed a rest, I injured one and it hurt, but despite everything, I kept going out three times a week, I didn't want to give up, and that annoyance lasted, until I I noticed. I stopped and little by little it got better, although I didn't stop completely, I balanced my recovery with some breaks so as not to lose the habit, and like many things, results are seen with patience. Balance is important.

To be able to feel the same sensations that I felt months ago, not to get up afraid that it would hurt when I stepped on it but that I can continue, I can move forward, enjoy the weather, feel everything I felt, and enjoy the views, the sun wonderful that says good morning to me, the clouds that greet me as they pass and even the rain that gives me a peace that is difficult to explain and thus feel alive and grateful while I'm running the entire coastline now to the finish and beyond.
