Welcome back Splinterlands battlemages to another edition of "For Guild & Glory," my brawl report series covering all the action from my three accounts: @ducecrypto in Tier 4 with
@shield-of-glory from the Kingdom of Glory [KoG] alliance,
@treycrypto in Tier 3 with the
@yggspl-official alliance YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) and
@shaelien in Tier 3 with the always lively
@the420syndicate. You can see my last report for Brawl #145 here.
Recently I have been way off my rhythm with my brawl duties. For Brawl #146, it turns out I forgot to clip the standings and brawler information for Shield of Glory in Tier 4. What I do know is that we took 1st place out of a full 10-guild group, good for 180 crowns, 10286 merits, and 173 SPS. Our KoG alliance guildmates Guardians of Glory took 2nd place, and Team Possible and Legendary Dragons took 3rd and 4th respectively. Peakmonsters Pirates, who finished ahead of us in Brawl #145, ended up in 7th behind the other KoG allied guild, No Guts No Glory, in 6th.
Duce had a decent go of it defending Fray 18 - Modern Gold Foil Silver League, finishing with a 6-3 record overall. I lost to fellow guildmate @star-shroud playing his alt account
@spiritblade for Guardians in this life vs. life battle. His choice to use Rathe was far superior to my selection of Ilthain since we both leaned on Captain Katie as our gladiators and in conjunction with the repair from Adelaide I didn't have enough to win. On the flip side, I was able to take down longtime Tier 4 rival
@spirits4you in the silent summoner, all-ranged battle. I don't get many opportunities to play Dallan, but when I can jam him in there, I usually take the opportunity to submit the often-neglected Death summoner. I'm hopeful we can continue this winning streak in Brawl #147!
YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) continued its winning ways, trouncing the competition en route to a 1st place finish with a gap of 23 wins over 2nd place Team Possible Diamond. With a final record of 107-26, Niðavellir recorded a win rate of over 75%, which is quite impressive. The resounding victory earned us 128 crowns, 7111 merits, and 62 SPS.
The brawler standings show @frozenpizza and
@akapromethee with undefeated records of 8-0 and 7-0 respectively, but there were a total of five brawlers with perfect records this cycle. Not pictured are perfect 4-0 records from
@haedan and
@greatplayer2020, as well as my first clean sweep defending Fray 16 - Modern Gold Foil Silver League with TreyCrypto finishing 6-0. None of the battles were particularly close, so instead I will touch on the strategy I used against
@wowthisiscool in this all-ranged battle. Of course, in these all-ranged battles, it is a big advantage to be able to play Ilthain or Lir, so with Life available, I chose Ilthain. Due to the low mana cap of 13, I figured to just try to survive, so I stuck my tank healer in the back and put a monster with 6 health up front so I could effectively heal for 2 each round, ignoring the fact that the tank could not attack. Overall, I am very thankful to be back with Niðavellir after taking the last brawl off to battle with a different YGG Brawler guild, and I look forward to continuing our run of consecutive 1st place finishes to double digits.
More pie on my face for this brawl cycle, as I did not even remember to sign up to brawl with The 420 Syndicate on my Shaelien account - for shame! This guild already has enough trouble not being able to fill all of its brawl slots, so forgetting to join left us with only 100 battles played out of a possible 133. But my guildmates picked up the slack and responded with a 50-50 record to take 5th place, one win ahead of S.I.C. who played 14 more battles.
Participants took home 43 crowns, 1911 merits, and 29 SPS. The 420 Syndicate was led by an 8-1 record from @suavesounds and a 7-1 record from
@jymydan. I look forward to getting Shaelien back in the mix for the next cycle, especially now that we have room in a more appropriate Modern Gold League fray.
The stones were kind to me this past cycle, as DuceCrypto was able to crack six gladius cases and revealed three Gold Foil gladiators, as well as the legendary Tatiana Blade. I'm still looking forward to my first GFL gladiator.
On the other hand, TreyCrypto cracked three gladius cases of his own but did not enjoy the same luck. Just one rare over the minimum, no epics or legendaries, and no Gold Foil in sight. It will be a few more cycles until Trey is able to purchase more stones, so I'm holding all merits until I can open the cases with stone support.

Brawl #147 looks to be another challenging one for Shield of Glory in Tier 4, as the supremely talented Japanese guild Samurai Soul defeated us the last time we faced off. We also battle against two strong Peakmonsters guilds and YGG Brawlers (Asgard).
In Tier 3, YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) looks to continue its run of 1st place finishes as the top-ranked guild in the group, and the main competition is likely to come from The Anti Social Club and Splinter Ops. With only three guilds in the Top 100 of The 420 Syndicate's group of 10, I am hopeful we will be able to finish in the top half of the standings.
And that's a wrap on another Brawl Report. Thanks again for hanging through until the end. If you enjoy the content, don't forget to give my account a follow and leave a comment below - I enjoy interacting with you in the comments section.
