I was able to top out over 14K steps on Thursday due to some extracurriculars at the school. After the kids went home, I had about 75 minutes to myself before our evening event started.
We hosted a Dads and Donuts event, which was basically a glorified dessert potluck while we watched The Mighty Ducks. It was pretty amusing watching the mostly Hispanic and Black families watch a movie all about a kids hockey team, but everyone had a blast.
I made my favorite high-protein chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, and a lot of the kids and dads slept on them. It was only after most people left, and we were cleaning up that people finally tried the homemade-looking dessert. The few staff around quickly realized I was using much better ingredients than the majority of the store-bought nonsense that was on the table.
Extra creamy Cabot butter, organic high-protein waffle mix, turbinado sugar... these bad boys are the real deal. Unfortunately, even though there were a few dozen left that I was hoping my fellow teachers would be able to taste on Friday, one of the school staff must have helped themselves to the whole bag because they were not with the other leftover dessert on Friday morning. Oh no... I'm talking about the future. I better get out of here. Until next time...
