It is always and forever a pleasure to spend time with some of my favorite people as we share with our #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. So a day steeped in taking in the beauty of the neighborhood, looking at the decorations, definitely a #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my
@c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A match made in heaven..
I am standing in the kitchen looking at the smallest of the trees that were decorated this season. The one in the living room took a little more effort, but, I didn't want to rush this most beautiful holiday.*
The day is near. Oh, come all ye faithful.
I was waiting until it got a little more light to stroll through the neighborhood. I looked out the window and to my surprise, sparkle and glitter, oh, my! Oh, my! It is on the porch and I was hoping it wouldn't melt away this morning. Well, I can see that it is still here and it seems as if everyone put up their outside decorations. Can we get up close and personal to see what they look like? The magic of Christmas has touched the neighborhood. I close my eyes and hear the voices of angels sing.
Angels we have heard on high.
I cannot help by saying that it is also a truly #SublimeSunday by @c0ff33a! How can it not be?
It is always a pleasure to walk around the neighborhood. I took a short sprint to get warmed up, now let's walk a bit. Everyone here is into decorating. We have an unspoken challenge between us to see who has the best decorated (although overdecorated can count against you! LOL) house. People really do a nice job. This guy took the string of holly and berries and worked it into his landscape. Oh, I do like how he does that. Next year, being more creative has got to top my list!
I may need to ask forgiveness as these are out of order. I can tell because it is still dark with a sprinkling of light. Anyway, I do like the metal vine these people used. I wonder if he made them? I am guessing that he did as he has a lot of ironworks used in his landscaping. They would be a nice touch to my efforts, so I may have to ask him if I can copycat. He lives about five streets away, so I am thinking that maybe far enough away to borrow his seasonal selection. He may think otherwise, so we will see. I will report back as soon as possible..
This was at the Community Center in the neighborhood. They used copious amounts of garland and berries. Berries seemed to be the theme this year... last year too. The walk is taking me back towards home as it is colder than I am prepared for. I have suddenly gotten thin blood. I just need another vacation.
This is really No-Mans-Land over there. It is on the peripheral of the neighborhood. Lots of people go out and decorate these trees to help beautify the neighborhood. This gentleman has been doing his part since I moved here. I can only say thank you and join in to help. It is a neighborhood effort and everyone comes without being asked. It feels nice when everyone around you has pride in ownership, wanting to make it all look nice.
Running the rest of the way home! Meet you there!
Afew weeks ago, I was pondering the thoughts that I have so much memory attached to the sounds of Christmas. People, places, even things. But, it is the people that my mind is on. What are they doing? For some, that I have lost touch with, where are they? Are they happy? Do they reminisce about days gone by, when our paths crossed on a daily basis for a year or three? Do they?
I asked you if you have a friend like that? Once so close, even more than your own family at times? Then for one reason or another, the ties are no longer, or perhaps they are lying dormant, waiting for life to be pumped back into them?
Reflections.Of life. This is such a good time of year for reflections.
So, stop for a few minutes and visit. Today is a most beautiful day, filled with sunshine and happiness - and a little glitter too! And let's not forget that there is a side of sublime. Happy #BeautifulSunday! Sublimely so!
The gift of love.
The gift of peace.
The gift of happiness.
May all these be yours at Christmas.
May the joy continue to radiate in your lives,
long after the season is gone, gone, gone.
Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
Love to all, Denise

We Are The World
There comes a time
When we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
Oh, and it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
We can't go on
Pretending day-by-day
That someone, somewhere soon make a change
We're all a part of God's great big family
And the truth, you know, love is all we need
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day, just you and me
Oh, send them your heart
So they know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
And so we all must lend a helping hand
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving
Oh, there's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day, just you and me
When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all
But if you just believe there's no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well let us realize
Oh, that a change can only come
When we stand together as one, yeah, yeah, yeah
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day, just you and me
