How does creativity work? Pretty sure the answer is different for each of us.
Because right there is the secret of the muse. What works for you? Probably not the early 80s New Romantic soundtrack playing in my brain when I enter the creative zone. Probably not Dragonquest and Traveller and other wargames and roleplaying games of the same period.
But that's the point.
For me, I can enter the creative zone though hitting the play button in my head (1981 Rocks on, here we go). There's other music that works too - my undergrad degree is in music composition, so sometimes I just need to sit down with my guitar and let the music flow.
Other gateways to my creative dreamscape include well-written science fiction and fantasy.
Each of these deserves its own blog - or series of blogs - in its own right.
