In issues 2-4 we get to explore a little bit of Harvey's prowess as an infiltrator and a fighter. His time in the trenches of WW1 is where he first encountered the mythos in all its horror, but it's also where he started to learn the skills necessary to fight it!
Harvey's storyline, as I've mentioned in the past, is probably the one that has taken the biggest departure from the original manuscript. He's not infallible anymore, he's not just the quintessential gruff investigator whose been wronged in the past. His story grabbed me by the shoulders turned me around and said "nah, Harvey's not doing what you want, he's doing THIS instead!"
As such, Issue 4 took on a life of its own and I found Harvey making choices that I didn't see coming, but that also were completely inevitable. Plus he ends up using potent hallucinogenic drugs in order to commune with the past CUZ THATS NORMAL!
