I was really pleased when this scene bubbled forth from the void in my mind, because it allowed us to spend more time in the living space of one of our main characters.
Part of the problem with starting right when the action gets going, is that there was no way to spend luxurious amounts of time following 7 different characters as they go about their day to day lives prior to the 'haunting' that is discovered in the Saxton Estate. I had a scene where we saw Chuck with his wife and kid, but that ultimately didn't make it past the chopping block. If we ever get to make a sequel to this story, I will be sure to spend time with our characters in their more familiar settings.
