Ithaqa Comic Issue 4 - Roughs Page 29 - The Bodies Hit Da Flo
I wanted to develop a nightmare logic for the Nageeshi, and all things Rot-based. I wanted to create the sense that this was a creature somewhat beyond our comprehension. We're working to create a unique language with our letterer, Lucas, so that when she speaks it won't even be in an alphabet you recognize.
I also wanted to craft a series of rules and interactions that she lives by that follow the aforementioned nightmare logic, but are ultimately nearly impossible to understand. Why does she only target people who look her in the eyes? What is she saying? Why does she come from the Loom? In the next few pages you'll see what she does with her cloak, and I want people to be wondering WHY she does that.
If I do my job right, you'll understands what rules not to break with her, but you won't understand why she has those rules. I want her to be an entity that you clearly just can't negotiate with.
