Canada isn't known for nice winter weather, and as October draws to a close, I'm finishing everything in the garden up quickly.
That's over 60 garlic cloves, taken from the bulbs I harvested from my garden in July.
I've been eating this delicious garlic ever since, but put aside 60 nice cloves from my stock, to ensure a large harvest NEXT July!
Yup, that's a shot of all 60, along 2 sides of my back fence. Buried yesterday, and ready to sleep until spring!
And just in time, because today the snow arrived:
Here's my October photo of the birdberry bush:
The 2nd bean crop I planted didn't get a chance to produce, unfortunately. Here it is yesterday before I ripped it out and composted it:
Another week of nice weather would have done it. Oh well, I can get more seeds like that. Bean flowers are unassuming but pretty:
I found some late-blooming raspberries on the bush:
A few were still good! Like, really good. I took a couple inside for @MediKatie.
My tomatoes are canned as sauce, my garlic is cured and ready to eat (and planted!), my heirloom seeds are collected and stored. It's fall in British Columbia, and winter is on the way.
Grow in peace.
