I've been creeping around for a week or so, testing the waters. My name is Brian but my friends call me Brian and formally I am known as Brian. I'm an IT guy and I love decentralized and disruptive platforms and from what I have seen Steemit is amazing.

I'm writing this post to get my "friends" to join me here and to finally say hello to the steemit community and say goodbye and good riddance once and for all to Facebook. The beauty is I can "share" this on their platform while building my own here. Feel the pain Facebook and take that Zuckerberg!!!

What is Steemit?

It's a social media blogging site on its own blockchain that pays content providers (you) based on the popularity of your content of course!

It's a little more complicated than that but from my limited time using it:

1. It's like twitter without the pesky limit
2. It's like facebook but wide open and it can't be censored per se and your feed can't be manipulated by a company
3. Don't be needy or greedy
4. Most people use a screen name
5. Not troll friendly at all
6. You can provide content and make a little money or you can be a stalker and also make a little money by upvoting and commenting see number 3
7. Add a pic to each post
8. Resteem and upvote
9. Have patience when you request an account :-(

More about me. My name is Brian if I didn't mention that. I'm from California but got stuck... err sent to Ohio which I absolutely love now BTW. I really don't want to hold a paper saying steemit but I will if you guys force me to. Here's a not as fat as i normally am pic of me and my hot and amazing wife, Amber at the fairly recent Def Leppard, Tesla, REO Speedwagon concert which was pretty kickass. She really is my wife and not just some concert goer and yes I am extremely lucky... I know this.
