It's been raining without pause for two days here.

Though it's more of a London drizzle instead of the usual cats-and-dogs kind of downpour we get around here, it is still raining, so here I am, trying to write my heart away, even though these days I really suck at doing that.

When I first joined hive, I thought of myself as a wandering soul, who would want nothing more than record her day-to-day passing on this closely knitted blockchain, but as the days went by, with dread, I realised that I, really lived a rather dull and boring life.

I, For one, hardly venture outsise if it's not under my daily routine. And even if I do, I find myself circling around the same places I usually visit. Take this coffee shop, for example; I've been going there for over three years now. And each time I go out to meet my friends, we always end up in that same darn place with its mildly average food, chatting around a cup of coffee and smokes. It happens almost every time without fail, and although I do whine and complain and plan about going somewhere new the next time, I still find myself in that same place again and again. Which presents me with the problem of circles.
Just how many times can you write about the same shitty place with its same walls and same food??

And if, by some glorious miracle, I do manage to venture somewhere new, I get so mesmerised by my new surroundings that most of the time, I forget to take a photo, and the desire to write about the place also flies out of the window as I, at that moment, stay too preoccupied with taking things in.

By the time I get home and regain my senses to actually function again, the urge to write about it is gone, and with that, so are my memories about it...

I'm, in general, not a forgetful person. I just live by emotions more than visuals. So when my emotions get muted, so do my words. And I end up looking at my open google doc with sad blank eyes.

Okay, so, rain. Yes.

I love it. That light drizzle on my window all day and night; I adore that shit. Live by it. Can write poetries about it.

What I do not love, though, is what comes with said drizzle.

Muddy wet streets, a dull grey sky that makes me want to sleep rather than get on with my day, that mushy feeling inside the house that makes everything feel wet, I hate those. And as it turns out, rain hates me too. As she never grants me a visit on my days off, and literally decides to rain on my parade on the days I have to work or do things. Only those who faced the tragic moment of leaving the bed when the sky was overflowing outside know my pain. And trust me, it's really, really painful. At least to a lazy bum like me.

At least rain out there makes me want to drink coffee, a beverage I otherwise like to avoid and instead settle for a nice cup of tea.

There is just something about rain and coffee, I guess. The bitter aroma seems like a perfect fit for the earthy smell outside, which is just how I like it when I sit on my balcony, looking at the sky; the smoke from my coffee becomes one with the drizzle.
