Greetings all. Back in the day during the late 1950's, early '60's I can remember laying in the grass under warm starlit summer night skies trying to reconcile what I was being taught re who and what humans are and how we got here, and what I saw as I viewed the Universe before me. Science and religion said one thing while my heart made another distinctly different statement. Confusion reigned as I struggled to listen to the voice within that was constantly squashed by the words of so many from without. Teachers said this, priests said that, media supported the common line, parents and trusted adults almost always agreed with those in positions of "higher" authority who, while not necessarily teaching against what I sensed to be true, most certainly offered concepts that opposed (challenged) my innate core beliefs. I have since become aware that the vast majority of information (theory) presented as fact was (is) seriously flawed but lived for many years immersed in internal conflict that I could not understand or find my way past. I know today that I once viewed those teachings as a form of criticism, singly the most destructive force of daily life experience IMO, beginning with development of a low self-concept and proceeding to a sense of "less than" that stymied all manor of personal growth. There is more, much more, to this statement that will be discussed over time, for now I am going to add a poem that came to me in 2002 while driving south on I-75 while heading to Paris, TN. This is just one of many steps, all part of becoming conscious of consciousness.
Finally Knowing
Drifting in spaces among the stars
Dust of previous lives
A formless mass of collective consciousness
Of memory
The sum total of lives lived and all time
Some is dark; stained with retribution
Some is light; reflecting love
Some is lost in conflicts and revolution
Some embracing all that is and was
To each it is its own solution
Each seeks its own kind
The violence, the brutality
The other, finally knowing peace of mind
Or the loneliness of isolation and rage
Or living without conflict all times
Experiencing the second coming in the heart
And finally knowing peace of mind
No longer waiting
To see what cannot be seen
only known
And finally knowing peace of mind

I enjoy sharing these real moments of becoming more deeply aware, not as a revelation, rather as an acceptable response from the source of all that is to provide answers to the question "who am I?" for I think that is the question riding the stream of the eternal Mobias Strip. Best.
