I am an Administrator at Davies Academy, the school admits pupils from Preparatory class up to Secondary classes.
"Raising Kings and Nobles" is the motto of our school, we therefore decided to inculcate the attitude of gratitude into the students.
Many young ones don't know how to give to others, they believe that they don't have. Have you ever noticed the reaction of most children when you give them something and you in turn request the child to part with some? The reaction has always often been negative. Why, its because human beings are always in the habit of receiving more than releasing.
When you examine the contents of some adults request to God (Prayers) almost 90% of it is personal. This is still a human factor that needs to be corrected and this is why I believe in the ideology of Steemit.
Our school therefore organised a programme tagged APPRECIATION DAY.
On that day, each students were encouraged to buy something without informing their parents but the school then invited parents for this appreciation day.
The day was glorious as it became a surprise event as students were called forward one after the other to present his/her gifts.
One of the students lost his Dad few weeks before the day, when it was his turn to present his gift, the mother could not hold back as she remembered her husband and there was great silence in the auditorium.
This program encouraged our students not only to give to their parents alone but also amidst themselves and it has become a custom in the school.
Indeed Davies Academy is Raising Kings and Nobles to change the world
