Odd Eyelien Encounter is my first tokenized artwork for NFTShowroom.

This is an animation that I had worked on a while back, but I never had the time to finish it - until now. Hive has got me motivated enough to finish it and also publish it.
Animation is one of those things I like a lot, but it sure does takes a huge amount of time to complete. This is because to give characters a life-like motion, there's a lot of elements that have to be animated separately. In Odd Eyelien Encounter, you can notice details like how the tongue, eyes, and planets all have their different motions and timings.
Correct timing of the animation takes a while to achieve. For example, notice how two of the eyes of the main character "look up" when the little spaceship crosses over. The squares on the background, little spaceship, the squares that split and turn, and the eyelien moving forward in the end, all require meticulous adjusting, all which "fill up" the time of the animation. Also, see how the little spaceship moves in quickly, then stops for a bit at the top of the eyelien, and then takes off quickly again.
This animation took 30+ hours to make. I think it's a lot of time, but really worth it to watch doodles come to life like this.
It all started with this sketch.
I decided to only use part of it for the animation.
Last but not least, is the syncing of sounds. I believe sound finishes giving life to the piece. The slow and mysterious tune, the sound of the spaceship, and the "space" tick-tocks seem to be perfect for the animation. The soundtrack and sfx are all free-for-commercial-use which is really great.
I was featured with this animation as the first artist from HIVE in the MagNFT Magazine XXVII edition. It is really an honor for me to be there representing our community.
