Hi Hivers, how are you all? I'm sure we're all fine. By the way, my name is @donirosayandi, I'm a guitarist. On this occasion I will sing again for the 117th week of the Hive Open Mic #openmic contest with theme: "True Friends." This theme was chosen by Spotlight Artist @chosenfingers.

For this week's theme I have prepared a good song, a song yang related to the theme, namely the song called "Sobat" which means "friend", this song was popularized by "Padi".

"Padi" is a band whose personnel consist of Fadly, Ari (guitar), Yoyo (drums), Rindra (bass) and Piyu (guitar).

It was formed in Surabaya, April 8, 1997 and became known to the public in the late 1990s. The color of his music is considered new in the world of Indonesian pop rock music.

Padi itself was originally an artistic creativity group from Airlangga University Surabaya students, which was originally called 'Soda', but was later changed to Padi.
Padi's debut album, Another World (1999), has sold over 800,000 copies. Then followed the album Something Tertunda (2001) which also successfully sold up to 1.6 million copies. The next album Save My Soul (2003), and the last album titled Padi (2005).

Initially, Padi became known through the Indie Ten album, which contained a compilation of various bands released in 1998. In this album, Padi's song Sobat became one of the most popular songs at that time. The song Buddy tells the story of someone who loves the lover of his best friend.
The lyrics of the Padi song, entitled Sobat, tell the story of the expression of a friend's heart who turns out to have feelings for his friend's girlfriend. He had to say that, because the feelings of love were very deep.
