The final photo in this series is special. It is more than just a macro shot; it is a piece of history I literally uncovered from the soil on my own property using a metal detector. An old coin, encased in a metal ring or fitting and coated in patina with traces of bygone decades, emerged from the earth right next to the house.

Metal detecting teaches a unique kind of patience and respect for history. Every signal is a small mystery, and every finding is a bridge between the past and the present.
