There are a number of people around the world who are interested in and actively engaged with cryptocurrencies.
However, one Pew Research report from last year showed that about 46% of investors in the United States felt like it had performed worse than expected as far as an investment goes. After the variety of scandals in the news on one company or another it seems that many Americans are also not that open minded any longer to the industry.
Many Americans who are involved with cryptocurrencies have reported using it for investing purposes but this doesn't mean there aren't other purposes as well that people turn to this market space to use to help solve one problem or another.
It is estimated that there might be millions of people around the world who are currently involved with cryptocurrencies but it certainly isn't a majority of the population yet globally that have taken a dive into this space.
