ROCKY SHORE
The rocky shore
feels the ocean
constantly
patting him
on the back
with thanks and praise
Wave after wave
like pardons
washing away
the sins of the past
that time
has allowed
Regret merely
excites the ego
so we feel
eventually
we can change
but know we won't
One day
the rocky shore
will be a sandy beach
then the people will come
and the children will play
it's just a matter of time
