PERHAPS
Perhaps her roots
were too shallow
and lofty ideals
caused winds
to blow and
topple the lack
of foundation
Perhaps wings
do not mark the sky
but disloyalty scars
the earth and those
who walk it
innocently
enough
Perhaps my
mistake
was believing
in her
and loving her
too hard
