EMPTY NEST
Empty bedrooms
with beds made
and rooms tidy
Dogs waiting
for someone to
throw the ball
Cars on full
sitting
in the driveway
lonely
The sound
of silence
deafening
preventing sleep
No mouths left
to feed
or clothes
to wash
Hot water
for my shower
and part of me
wishes
for cold
like it was
before
