ANTICIPATION
A door may be closed
but is it locked
can it be opened
from either side
From where does the
courage come
to abandon all
and wrap your heart
around the present
and wink forever
at the past
How can someone be
everything for a year
and nothing
after a day
The answer lies
behind the door
closed long ago
when you were foolish enough
to open another with
blind recklessness
Fate holds the door open
time teaches
and love never lies
Especially to the man
facing the door
hoping she
is on the other side
