Today I sat with my mother and watched her sleep fretfully. She came around every so often to repeatedly ask the same questions. I answered her repeatedly. It was not a great day.
Her head would droop as she dozed. I took her picture for you to see:
She desires death, but it is illegal in the U.S. for me to assist her. She met her new hospice nurse without much of a response. The nurse was not impressed with her condition. She is not eating enough.
I am cold hearted and pretend to be mean. If she resorts to whining, I whine right back at her. She slapped my hand and tried to pinch me. Then she would repeat her questions again.
Her mental state is called dementia. It is common with people her age.
Be thankful for the good days.
Here is today’s beauty.
