If there's one thing I'm still coming to terms with, it's having to tell someone professional about all your secrets, and by someone I mean like your doctor, lawyer, therapist, or if you happen to be a spiritual person, your pastor.
A few days ago, I was talking to a lady friend of mine who seemed to be having some sort of problem in her relationship. It was something personal, and I was even surprised she had opened up to me. It turned out she's hardly ever interested in being intimate with her partner and wanted me to ask a lady nurse that I knew if there was some sort of drug that she could take to help put her in the mood whenever she wanted.
She couldn't go to the hospital to ask because she didn't want to pay for any consultation fee or any of the many fees they make you pay over at the hospital just for some medical advise.
When she made the request, I was going to refuse, but this lady happens to be a close friend of mine, and I felt that her opening up to me must have taken so much courage for her to do, and having to turn her down and tell her that I couldn't go ask the nurse would feel like me rubbing it all over her face.
So I told her I was going to do it, and trust me when I say that was probably one of the most difficult things I had to do. I remember when I eventually met the nurse, I had first of all made sure to explain the situation to her and probably would have shown her the text I got from my friend if I had to, but luckily I didn't because the nurse was professional and made things less awkward.
She understood what I wanted and gave me some advice to give to her, which I did. After that whole encounter, I remember asking myself if I would be able to ask a total stranger about a personal question like that if it were me in need of medical help for my private health.
I probably would if it were important, but it might not be an easy thing to do.
