An easy method for making the incredibly tempting *teler pitha* (oil-fried fritters).
Assalamu Alaikum, my fellow food lovers. How is everyone? I hope that, by the grace of Allah the Almighty, you are all doing well and staying healthy; I wish for your continued well-being and good health. Thanks to your prayers, I am also doing well and am in good health with my family, and for this, I express my gratitude to Allah the Almighty—Alhamdulillah.
Hello friends, today I am back with a new video for you. In this video, I will demonstrate how to make Teler Pitha (a type of deep-fried rice flour fritter). I will show you the entire process so that you can easily make these at home and enjoy them yourselves. It is a very simple method; if you follow the steps I’ve shown, I am confident that your pithas will turn out beautifully and taste delicious.
So friends, to make this pitha, we first need rice flour—which I prepared by processing rice in a machine. I have mixed three kilograms of rice flour with two and a half kilograms of sugar and added the right amount of water to create a liquid batter. We must ensure the consistency is neither too runny nor too thick. After mixing it thoroughly, I use my hands to break down any small lumps of flour, ensuring the mixture is completely smooth; this ensures the pithas float properly during cooking.
Next, we went to the stove and poured about two kilograms of soybean oil into two separate pans—one kilogram in each. We waited for the oil to heat up. Once hot, we took the batter mixture in a glass and poured small amounts into the oil, just as shown in the video. Shortly after, you will see the pithas (fritters) rising to the surface with a pleasant sizzling sound and beginning to puff up. Once one side is cooked, flip them over to fry the other side thoroughly in the oil. In this manner, we fried several batches, as you can see in the video.
After frying them for a while, we are transferring the pithas into a pot; since they are fried in boiling oil, they are extremely hot. While they taste best when hot, handling them while they are scalding poses a risk, so we are letting them cool down in the pot before we take them inside to enjoy together. As you can see, we are preparing these for a large number of people—specifically, many relatives visiting our home—which is why we have used a large quantity of rice flour; however, you can adjust the amount of rice flour according to your own needs.
Here, you can see a pitha (traditional cake) I brought for my daughter; she is really enjoying eating it. We are actually saving some for her because she often wants to eat them, but since it isn't possible to make fresh pithas every day, we keep a supply stored. My parents and everyone else in the family can also enjoy them whenever we feel like it. Anyway, friends, how did you like watching me make these oil-fried pithas? You should definitely try making them at home—I am confident you will succeed.
Please do share your valuable feedback on whether you enjoy Teler Pitha (oil-fried cakes). I hope to bring you even more wonderful and engaging videos in the future. Wishing everyone good health and well-being, I am signing off for now. Take care and stay healthy; I look forward to seeing you in the next video. Goodbye and Allah Hafiz.
Thank you very much. I trust you watched the video attentively and enjoyed it. Thanking you once again, I am taking my leave for now. Goodbye.
