Hi all,

A Journey to Find Happiness

In the middle of Pacific Ocean, on a small island,
there once lived a little boy and his aging mother.
They rather lived a simple life on that island,
being able to sustain on just what the island offers.
They lived simply but they were happy.
As the boy grew taller, so did his curiosity.
By then point, the boy had explored every crevice of the island.
And for the first time, the island couldn’t keep up the demand.
Staring at the ever-stretching blue ocean,
the boy asked his mother in revelation-
Mother, what’s beyond those water?
Beyond the water- replied the mother-
Lies a land of the free where all are possible,
and grants wish to all who keep dreaming.
Any wish? - asked the boy in dash.
Yes- replied the mother- any wish,
but you must want it more than anything.

During the dark of the night,
the boy pondered in deep thought-
what was his dearest wish?
He had so many but after much thought,
he decided on his dearest wish.
Not having the patience to wait any longer,
he began his preparation to sail far yonder.
The boy had never felt more excited in his life.
Using fallen tree trunks, the boy built a flimsy raft.
And he hastily took out for sail, quietly,
so that he won’t awake his dear mother.

Foolishly, he sailed,
into the never-ending stretch of the Pacific Ocean.
For hours after hours,
he paddled deeper into the darkness of the ocean.
The island was no longer in sight.
Using the very last of his might,
desperately, he paddled,
hoping that the land of the dreams is almost near.
And as he took his last paddle,
a ruthless wave came smashing down from his rear.
And along with his flimsy raft,
the boy got swallowed by the cold ocean water.
And then, all became very dark...and darker.

Wake up, you stupid boy!
-yelled a man in shiny gold rings.
Regaining consciousness and remembering his mission,
the boy excitedly asked the man in rings a question-
am I at the land of the dreams?
The man laughed and told the boy-
of course you are, you crazy boy!
Feeling relieved, the boy then asked-
will you be the one granting my wish?
A wish? What wish? - the man asked.
The boy then replied without a blunder-
I want to buy happiness for my mother!
Chuckling, the man then blundered-
sure, you can have it if you want it,
but first you must work real hard for it.

So, for years after years, the boy tirelessly worked,
hoping to pay off and receive what he had wished.
The work was exhausting but he kept going,
Believing that once he brings back home his dearest wish,
his mother will be proud and enjoy happy living.
Then all be worth it, he thought, so I must surely finish.
As the time went by, the work grew more demanding,
and his body became sickly and started degenerating.
Sensing he is at his limit, he asked the man-
can you grant my wish now, Mr. Goldman?
The man looked at him puzzled- a wish?
Yes, my wish, sir- the boy retold his wish-
the happiness I’ve been working for all my life!
I want it now, sir! -the boy yelled his demand-
I must return to my mother, back to my island!
Mr. Goldman then let out a pitiful sigh,
and he nodded to the haggard old man-
yes, you may have your wish now,
but just wait here for now, Mr. Cainam.

Mr. Goldman then makes a call, and says...
Hello, this is Pacific Inc calling.
We already have another one today.
Yes, it is strange how so many are losing it.
We think it’s the pool of chemicals that they’re working in.
Anyhow, please come in hurry and lock this guy in.
This poor man is clearly out of his mind.
