Hi there. This is a short Pokemon trading card game post.
This news piece on Pokebeach came to my attention recently. There is a new sealed product for March 2024 called Paldea Adventures Chest. There is another Pikachu promo because Pikachu. What is a bit of surprise is this Sprigatito ex promotional card. Screenshot below.
Sprigatito ex is a basic Grass Pokemon with 200 HP. I thought to myself why does it have more HP than this Mew V and Mew ex? Mew is a Mythical Pokemon while Sprigatito is not. But whatever it is the card game version of Pokemon.
The first attack Scratch does 20 damage for 1 colourless energy. Sprigatito ex's second attack does 100 damage with the cost of one grass energy and two colourless energy. These two attacks are not great from a competitive viewpoint.
What is interesting about this card is that it has a H regulation mark. This is the first known card to have the H regulation mark. At the time of writing, cards marked with E, F and G are the allowed cards in the standard format. It is speculated that rotation would be sometime in early 2024. Once rotation occurs only cards with the regulation marks of F, G and H would be allowed for standard play.
Sprigatito ex would be a card more for collectors than players. The artwork on both the Sprigatito ex and the Pikachu promo cards look nice.
Thank you for reading.
