This news is not really big but it is confirmation. The English set Delta Reign has been revealed as the sixth Mega Evolution set. The release date is on Friday November 6, 2026. Prerelease events take place from October 24, 2026 to November 1, 2026.
Preorders are available on the Pokemon Center website in September. (Good luck getting any product there with crazy scalpers/buyer demand.)
Previous Mega Evolution sets are 1 to 1 to Japanese sets. Delta Reign will contain cards from Japan's Storm Emeralda, and MEGA Starter decks.
The Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box (ETB) contains an exclusive Kyogre promo card.
Mega Golisopod ex does seems okay as an attacker but it is missing something I think.
In the middle, it is Mega Golourk ex. This one has a good attack from 2 Psychic Energy. The downside is that you need at least 10 cards in hand or find a way to negate/disable the ability.
Mega Malamar ex seems kind of usable. If not now, then in a future format. Two Dark energy is needed for the first attack to deal 70 damage for each of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.
The Legendary Summit is one of 3 two-part Stadium cards in the set. You need both the left side card and the right side card to play this stadium. When a Colourless Pokemon is Knocked Out by damage from an attack from an opponent's, the opponent takes one less Prize card.
Mega Rayquaza ex on its own does not seem super crazy. It looks tough to meet the energy requirements for the attack. The supporting cards around this and Japanese Mega Rayquaza ex decks look good overall. Use Adventuring Lantern to get Fire and Lightning Basic Energy along with Ethan's Ho-Oh ex to get Fire energy on board. Add in Crispin and Energy Search to accelerate Energy and move energy around.
