There has been an announcement of the Mega Diancie ex deck product along with the Mega Gengar ex deck. In this post I cover the Mega Diancie ex deck from the Pokemon TCG. Both of these deck products release on October 24 before November's Phantasmal Flames release.
The suggested retail price is 14.99 USD each. With scalpers these days, the price of this could easily be at least 30 CAD.
In both products, there is a featured Pokemon ex card for playing as well as an illustration rare art card. The Diancie one gets Meloetta while the Mega Gengar deck gets an illustration rare version of Haunter.
Pokemon (16)
Trainers (30)
Energy (14)

Mega Diancie ex is a Basic Psychic Mega Pokemon with 1 retreat cost, 270 HP. The Diamond Coat ability makes Mega Diancie ex take 30 less damage from attacks (after Weakness & Resistance).
The Garland Ray attack requires 2 Psychic Energy for the attack. You can discard up to 2 Energy cards from this Pokemon. This attack does 120 damage for each card discarded in this way. The maximum damage possible is 240 damage.
I featured some key cards in this deck. Some pictures are proxy translated card images.
The trainer cards in this Mega Diancie ex deck product is pretty good. Lillie's Determination looks like a new staple card for many decks. Four copies of it is very good in this product and for the card market too. More supply brings down prices for players.
Arven, Iono and Boss's Orders are good too.
The item cards in this deck are good too. You got your Nest Balls, Buddy-Buddy Poffins, Air Balloon and Night Stretchers.
Fourteen Psychic Energy is a bit much I think. You could cut something 3 Psychic Energy for more Supporter cards like Iono.
The Pokemon attackers are not great. Even Mega Diancie ex on its own is not that great of an attacker. A damage cap at 240 damage is not threatening enough against popular Stage 2 decks like Gardevoir ex, Charizard ex and Dragapult ex. The fire power is not enough against Gholdengo ex with 260 HP.
Because of the weak attackers in this deck, this deck is not really great for local tournaments out of the box. You would purchase this deck product for the Meloetta illustration rare card and/or for the playable Trainer cards.
Purchasing this at 20 CAD sounds okay. A higher price at 30 CAD due to scalpers may want you to consider getting singles cards instead.
Thank you for reading.
